not much of an update. i just blocked in some color on the wings. i would like to find some cogs and wheels for the base but not sure where to look.

i wasn't happy with the old base, so i thought i'd try something different. i used some rust off an old hitch. i'll add some murky water around the tentacle. and i need to find a new head spike.

he's still rough, but the yellow on the bolter turned out kinda like the way i wanted. the scout heads sure are silly looking. it's hard to get a realistic feel when the head looks like a cartoon.

i found these guys on ebay last week for ten bucks. still in their package. new old guys for my mantis army. i'm trying to collect all the rogue trader marines, but people are crazy on pricing.

not much to look at yet but this is going to be a scout squad for my mantis warriors. i just need to get them done in a week. that'll be a record for me i it happens.

well after my rant on gw i decided to play with something a little different. i like how the flesh has turned out so far. i still have a long way to go though. she has quite the stubby fingers but hopefully people will be looking elsewhere. i've been trying some different blending ideas, but i think the airbrush might come in handy on the jacket.

finecast sucks

it sucks. i've been holding my tongue for awhile to give them a chance to fix some issues. but come on. i just got the new vamp girl in the mail last week and what a piece of resin junk. her mouth was full of resin and had a big hole in her chin. all the flowers on her dress were flattened. the whole thing had a gritty texture. i called to express my feelings about it. gw customer service is always nice and sent out a new one right away. it arrived today. well, the face is much better, but the end of her nose is missing, the left eye has a bubble on it, and all the pointy bits on her armor are gone. i'm not sure what to do. i hate to call again but i had hoped to paint her for the demons. if i have to spend time sculpting new parts just to make it look like the box , i might as well sculpt my own fig. oh well rant over for now.
